Join the Sulphur Experts Team and be a part of the bigger picture, helping refineries and gas plants operate in a safe, reliable and efficient matter. This is a full-time position for an entry-level Lab Analyst (Analytical Specialist) in our Kemah, TX office. The primary responsibilities of this position are performing in-house lab analysis duties along with sampling and analysis duties at client sites, typically gas plants and refineries. Travel will mostly be in the United States although some international travel may be required.Travel will be required up to 50% of the time.
Qualifications:
- Valid passport and ability to attain foreign work visas
- Drivers license (Class 5 or equivalent)
- Willingness to comply with the Sulphur Experts Health and Safety Program and the Drug and Alcohol Testing Program
- Associate of Science (A.Sc.) in Natural Science or EquivalentOR
- Clean Criminal Record
- Working knowledge of various gas and liquid analysis systems is a plus
- Technician/Technologist with Chemical Technologist Diploma or Equivalent
Experience:
- 0 to 2 years
Technical:
- Maintain testing equipment
- Miscellaneous additional tasks for that region as directed by the Analytical Manager
- Provide general support and assistance to senior personnel
- Perform field test tasks including sample point preparation, sample collection, data collection and sample analysis (Gas Chromatography and Ion Chromatography experience is a plus)
- Maintain company vehicles and mobile labs
- Perform laboratory analyses in the regional office
- Deploying Personal Technical Skills/Expertise: involved as a project team member
- Clean, prepare and organize testing equipment
- Assist senior personnel with data interpretation and reporting
- Complete personal timesheets
- Complete personal expense reports
- Participate in project planning sessions
Responsibilities:
- All work is reviewed for technical accuracy, attainment of objectives and adherence to deadlines and Company standards
- Maintain competency in all work procedures
- Works under the direct supervision of the project lead for fieldwork
- Maintain a clean driving record
- Maintain safety qualifications
- Works under the direct supervision of the Analytical Manager or appointed senior lab staff
Working Conditions:
- Demanding physical labour at times
- Extensive travel required (local and international)
- Regular exposure to hazardous conditions
- Extended working days and extended working weeks
