Description

As a first level support, the IT Support Technician will provide technical expertise, installation and training, resolution of technical problems, and ensure currency of information for end users.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist or resolve internal customer IT needs or requirements and issues. Issues affecting external customers are to be given top priority.
  • Continuously work to improve the quality of technology solutions at SGS.
  • Look for ways to leverage skills to automate processes or otherwise reduce repetitive and predictable work.
  • Deploy, move, migrate, and retire Mac and Windows desktop systems while minimizing business impact. Maximize efficiency using Casper to manage Mac and SCCM for Windows desktop computers.
  • SGS IT compliance - ensure equipment, software and hardware are in compliance with directives from SGS.
  • Maintain, modify, and support existing applications as needed.
  • Production maintenance and service needs - maintain and / or repair any production related equipment and services on an immediate basis as needed.

  • Comply with all SGS standards, applicable regulations and department Standard Operating Procedures.

Educational & Experience Requirements:

  • Some software development experience preferred.
  • Associate degree in graphics/prepress or equivalent experience in the graphics industry.
  • Experience utilizing and maintaining Macintosh equipment.
  • Experience utilizing and maintaining Windows equipment.
