Job Description
Inside the Role
The IT Manager for Thomas Built Buses is responsible for the vision, leadership and execution of IT service delivery including applications, infrastructure and end user services. In collaboration with key business stakeholders, this person is a critical thinker that drives enterprise transformation and tactical initiatives to further support our market leadership in the school bus market. The position will report directly to the IT Director – Operations, Engineering & TBB (Thomas Built Buses) of Daimler Truck North America

Position offers a starting salary range of $149,500-$191,000
Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience

What you Drive at DTNA
  • Acquire, maintain, and expand knowledge of relevant product offerings, current support policies and methods of support delivery on company systems, software or hardware.
  • Manage outsourced IT services with supplier relations for services including infrastructure, applications, hardware, software and other related services.
  • Collaborate with global security and centralized DTNA security teams to comply with Daimler standards for information security. Scope includes, but is not limited to Internal Control System as Small Medium Entity, Information Classification, Cybersecurity, Application Security and Business Continuity Management
  • Communicate business requirements and associate these with projects and daily operations of various IT teams.
  • Define team policies in relation to work activities, off-hour support and communication.
  • Develop the IT Roadmap aligned with the operational vision and drive to execution.
  • Coach and mentor support staff, actively participate in strategy sessions and engage in project workshops as needed.
  • Provide advanced leadership as member of executive board in planning, procuring, designing and implementing the proper technologies to meet the business needs of the organization.
  • Determine budgets, hire and terminate employees, set priorities and manage resources.
  • Present technologies and strategic direction to various stakeholders including external customers, as required.
  • Collaborate with Executive Management and business stakeholders to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective IT solutions for TBB that strengthen our market position, user experience and overall service delivery.
  • Define annual plans, projects, delivery schedules, and report progress to customers and IT management in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Participate and contribute to DTNA IT strategic initiatives driven from the Leadership team of DTNA
  • Define, develop and communicate user/ technical service policies and documentation for products supported by the Infrastructure and Application support groups.

Knowledge you Should Bring
  • Demonstrated effective leadership of enterprise software management and leading an IT organization in a complex business environment preferred
  • An attached resume is required
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related discipline with 8 years of related experience required
  • Prior experience in handling medium/large scale IT project implementation
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present business and technical subject matter to a variety of stakeholders required
  • At least 3 years of group leader, supervisory, or project lead experience
Exceptional Candidates Might Have
  • Good understanding of agile software development methodology
  • Prior experience delivering enterprise solutions (e.g. SAP)
