It Coordinator/Computer Teacher

Primary Responsibilities

• Providing technical support for faculty members who need assistance using school computers and/or smartboards.
• Plan and facilitate meaningful, rigorous, level-appropriate instruction to students.
• Assists the Principal with evaluating technology policies, procedures, and processes in areas such as end-user support, data management, and network access.
• Supports the use of technology throughout the school daily, ensuring the technology is functional and practical in the classrooms.
• Provides technology training and support, as needed, to faculty and staff, including new hires, regularly.
• Provide necessary and effective parent communication, including Parent/Student conferences and guidebooks.
• Encourage students to discover computer science concepts and skills by creating personally relevant, tangible, and shareable projects.
• Keeps an updated inventory of all technology assets and determines what products must be ordered annually.
• Manages and resolves all technology-related issues promptly.
• Participate in ongoing professional development on emerging technologies, curriculum design, and pedagogies relevant to instructional technology.
• Teach technology content focusing on computer skills, digital citizenship and literacy, and integration of creative tools.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal.

Required Education/Background

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, technology, information systems, education technology, education, or a related field from an accredited College or University.
• 2-5 years of teaching experience in educational technology, preferably in a K-12 environment.
• Expertise in computer systems, networks, and with software and services that can enhance a school’s operational and academic domains.

Required Skills

• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Possess a solid educational and experiential background in technology, and understand the changing role of technology.
• Ability to implement new technology initiatives in the classroom and collaborate with faculty regarding best practices in technology instruction.
• Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Google Workspace for Education.
• Familiar with multiple computer operating systems.
