Rampart Bioscience is currently seeking an Inventory and Purchasing Associate.

The Inventory and Purchasing Associate will work closely with the Senior Manager, Laboratory Operations to provide support for Research & Development operations. In this role, he/she will support inventory management, ordering, procurement, and shipping and receiving with some administrative tasks as needed. An ideal candidate will be highly organized, have a can-do spirit, and have a desire to learn in a fast-paced startup environment.

The Impact You Will Make

The Inventory and Purchasing Associate will play an instrumental role in supporting operations of Research and Development studies required for the advancement of gene therapies into humans.

What You'll Do

Inventory Management

• Consistently maintain proper inventory levels; manage all inventories and forecast accurate inventory targets and allocations.
• Perform physical inventory checks.
• Maintains detailed chemical inventory.
• Support physical inventory counts, reconcile inventory variances.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels consistent with targeted inventory goals.
• Maintain Current inventory system.
• Work closely with Lab Manger to manage assigned Strategic / Preferred Suppliers.
• Assist identification and qualification of new sources of supply to support the business strategies.
• Identify potential supply risks and inventory exposures by aligning supply chain and forecast models.
• Interact with suppliers to maintain delivery scheduling.

Purchasing

• Establishes and maintains relationships with vendors.
• Expedites critical orders through relentless follow up for assigned internal clients.
• Create, prepare, distribute, monitor and follow-up on purchasing actions based upon orders that have been placed.
• Prepares and process the return of merchandise items back to vendors.
• Source new and secondary materials.
• Resolves backorders.
• Places orders for material and equipment as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned. Negotiates preferred/discount pricing or contract pricing with vendors.

Administrative

• Perform shipping and receiving duties.
• Maintain files both paper and digital.

What You’ll Bring

Required Qualifications:

• Associate degree or combination of education and experience, Bachelor’s Degree is a plus.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Adhere to good health and safety practices and compliance with applicable EH&S rules and participate in mandatory safety training.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Intermediate to advanced level in MS Office, experience with SAP Concur is a plus.
• Ability to prioritize the workload to ensure delivery against tight deadlines.
• 3-5 years of work experience in inventory management, procurement experience is a plus; experience in a pharma/ biotech manufacturing environment is a plus.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

• Good interpersonal skills and effective communication, both verbal and written.
• Able to use multiple inputs to establish direction.
• Strong work ethic and a collaborative team player.
• Knowledge of planning, inventory management, reporting and other supply chain/logistics.
• Ability to multitask and support multiple projects simultaneously.

Compensation, Benefits & Additional Information

Compensation range: $50,000-$75,000 commensurate with qualifications
