Internship Opportunity: AI/ML Engineer (Unpaid)

Magen Consulting Group is a nimble, early-stage startup exploring the intersection of AI/ML and biology. We are seeking an intern to join our team and gain hands-on experience developing and applying cutting-edge AI/ML solutions to bioinformatics problems. No prior biology experience needed.

In this role, you will work closely with our lead data scientist to:

• Keep up with latest advancements in AI/ML and quickly test new tools and approaches
• Contribute your own ideas and take ownership over developing novel AI/ML solutions
• Develop machine learning pipelines to extract insights from biological datasets
• Visualize and interpret complex biological data using creative solutions
• Implement and test state-of-the-art natural language processing models like for biological applications

This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in an agile startup environment and work on impactful applications of AI/ML. We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds who are passionate about AI/ML and motivated to learn.

We are looking for someone who is:

• Eager to apply and expand their AI/ML skills on biological problems
• Interested in leveraging knowledge graphs and LLMs
• Looking to gain valuable experience for future opportunities in AI/ML
• Able to work independently and proactively adopt new tools/approaches

This is an unpaid, 3-month remote internship. Interviews will take place Aug 28-Sep 1, offers made by Sep 4, with a flexible start date around that week. There will be opportunities to interact with other interns and access a network of AI/ML professionals.
