Our Global Internal Communications Center of Expertise (COE) is seeking candidates for the following position based in our New York, Boston or Chicago office:
Internal Communications Specialist
The Internal Communications Specialist develops and executes internal communication strategies and plans to promote employee understanding, engagement and alignment with Marsh, Mercer and Marsh McLennan’s strategic business priorities.
- You will ensure that enterprise, global and regional priority content is integrated, customized, and activated locally – in a measurable way – to reach target audiences effectively.
- Activities will include but are not limited to creating and managing the delivery of internal communications vehicles, such as intranet content, videos, and presentations, as well as hyper-targeted email messages.
- You will focus on commercial activation of Mercer’s US business and is expected to coordinate with counterparts at Marsh and Marsh McLennan as needed and on a regular basis.
- Reporting to the Mercer US Business Communications Leader, the Specialist will belong to the Global Marketing and Communications Team and the Global Internal Communications Center of Expertise (COE), as well as the US and Canada Marketing and Communications Team.

- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in internal communications.
- You will collaborate with cross-functional and business teams and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure accurate and timely communication supporting business priorities.
- Ensure that consistent messaging and branding across all internal communication channels is achieved
- Support the planning and execution of internal events, including town halls, employee recognition programs, and employee engagement activities.
- Monitor and analyze internal communication metrics to assess the effectiveness of communication initiatives and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.

- Be proficient in digital communication tools and platforms, including experience with email marketing software, intranet systems, social media platforms, and other collaboration tools.
- Have a disciplined, plan-based approach to communication while executing flawlessly and meeting deadlines.
- Think strategically and align communication plans with the overall goals and objectives of the organization.
- Have well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills to measure the impact of internal communications initiatives while providing recommendations for improvement.
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to convey (in writing) complex information in clear and understandable formats to a wide range of audiences with differing levels of understanding.
- Have change management experience, specifically helping employees navigate transitions and maintaining employee engagement and morale during change.
What you need to have:
- A Bachelor’s Degree
- Impeccable writing skills and the ability to take a plan-based, data-driven approach to communications
- A minimum of 5 years of developing and executing internal communication strategies preferably out of a large professional services company and/or financial services company

The applicable base salary range for this role is $77,500 to $155,000.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
