Situated within the Corporate Affairs function, and reporting to the Senior Director of Global Brands Communication, the Manager of Executive and Internal Communications is responsible for developing, leading, and executing the executive and internal communications strategy for the newly created GFG (Global Food Groups) function led by SVP Chief Growth Officer under the leadership of Jane Wakely, Global CMO and Chief Consumer Officer. You will play a key role in this newly created function, engage with the various GFG stakeholders across the globe to build a unified internal and external voice for PepsiCo leadership within Global Foods.


This is a hybrid role that can be based in either our Purchase, NY, or Plano, TX office.


Responsibilities


Executive and External Communications
  • Lead the development of the executive social media strategy and plan to ensure social media messaging for SVP Category Growth Officer for global foods group is strategic and unified across channels
  • Stepping up SVP Category Growth Officer (GFG) executive presence through proactive media engagement– securing media interviews, speaking opportunities and LinkedIn profile optimization to stay competitive and assert industry leadership
  • Ensure execution of the proposed plans
  • Community response
  • Manage agency budgets
  • Ongoing Linkedin Content calendar and management including:
  • Evaluate and measure PR execution with clear KPIs and metrics
  • Editorial calendar planning
  • Develop and execute Executive communication and thought leadership strategy for SVP Category Growth Officer for global foods group (GFG) to elevate his profile and visibility with media and across the Food and beverage industry
  • Manage relations with PR and digital agencies and other partners to execute programs flawlessly:
  • Prepare briefing, narrative documents and talking points
  • Counsel CLT (Marketing, Innovations team) for GFG on external comms – vet additional opportunities that fall within approved parameters; provide/cascade existing talking points that support enterprise priorities for other Global Foods senior senior leaders
  • Coordinate with Crisis Comms team on reactive media responses as necessary
  • Content creation
  • Providing them with briefs
  • Assess agencies proposals
  • Story mine across GFG, develop pitches and media materials, pitch journalists and coach spokespeople
  • Publishing and channel management
  • Review and edit all brand PR media and communication material


Internal Communications


  • Internal amplification of GFG major global campaigns, strategies, projects, platforms, awards, external speaking engagements or press coverage
  • Develop the annual internal comms strategy for GFG to drive pride, employees engagement and enhanced sense of belonging to newly created structure
  • Write/review internal articles/letters signed by SVP Category Growth Officer for global foods group (GFG)
  • Facilitate the cascade of global initiatives (TPW, Smiles, OHS, transformation, Brand campaigns, Positivity Culinary, etc.)
  • Oversee internal comms content and events including Town Halls (4/year), SPA/Broadcast box management, org announcements, Hello PepsiCo & mypepsico.com content.
  • Execute the annual communications strategy, working with key stakeholders to ensure plan supports and enables the achievement of business priorities. Lead coordination across GFG function partners and HR business partners, communications agency, and GBS on execution of plan


Compensation and Benefits:


  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $98,700 - $165,150
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement
  • In addition to salary, PepsiCo offers a comprehensive benefits package to support our employees and their families, subject to elections and eligibility: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Health and Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Insurance (Accident, Group Legal, Life), Defined Contribution Retirement Plan
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 12% of annual salary paid out Annually.


Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:


  • Comfortable in working with senior executives and in dealing with confidential and sensitive information
  • Experience working with and managing agencies
  • 6+ years of experience in communications, marketing and/or PR (design/ad/creative background preferred), preferably with CPG / functional communications
  • Bachelor’s degree required (communications or relevant degree preferred)


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Strong communication and writing skills, both written and verbal including speechwriting, video scripting and video production management - particularly under tight deadlines and through an employee consumption lens
  • Reputable leader who takes the time to build relationships and instill trust within the function
  • Must have ability to think and act independently, using sound judgment, in an environment that is often ambiguous and dynamic - ability to make decisions, the right tradeoffs and delegate is critical for this role
  • Ability to nfluence leaders while maintaining grace under pressure
  • Strong understanding of regional and national media around the world; International consumer media experience a plus
  • Needs to be confident leading others internally (within GFG and cross-functional), externally (agency) – Recognize when to take charge, roll up sleeves, council, seek support from subject matter experts
  • Ability to translate business and marketing driven copy into a communication targeted for a broader audience to digest
  • Solid experience using digital and social media as a lead and integrated element in generating press coverage
  • Experience with issues / crisis management
  • Ability to manage projects and others, prioritize, multitask, adapt and work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
