PerkinElmer is seeking an intern to work with its corporate legal and contracts administration team for a limited period, beginning June 1, 2023, through December 31, 2023. The position will be based in Waltham, MA or Hopkinton, MA, with alternative flexible work arrangements to be considered. The legal team provides shared support across the Life Sciences, Diagnostics and Informatics business units.

The intern will be responsible for assisting with a variety of tasks typical in a corporate legal department, including, but not limited to:

• Assist with initiatives to strengthen the legal department and business operations through systems improvements and the preparation, implementation and refinement of forms, processes, and procedures, including contract template review and development;
• Researching specific legal issues;
• Identifying legal and compliance issues and advising on risk while balancing business objectives; and
• Other contracts administration tasks.
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts, including sales agreements, terms and conditions of purchase, non-disclosure agreements, services agreements, and other general customer and supplier agreements;
• Escalate legal and contractual issues as needed; and

The intern will primarily work with the attorneys in the Diagnostics and Life Sciences Solutions legal departments, as well as with various business partners in the organization. We seek a highly motivated, independent individual who thrives in a high-volume, dynamic environment with rapidly shifting priorities.

Basic Qualifications:

• Must have completed the first year of law school

Preferred Qualifications:

• Outstanding interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with others and to foster a climate of goodwill and cooperation
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral
• Excellent judgment and personal and professional maturity and integrity
• Ability to provide accurate, timely, thorough and well-reasoned legal advice

Compensation: Hourly, $20-30 per hour; expected 40 hours/week
