General Summary


This position will work with the Talent Development Manager to ensure training and talent development initiatives are implemented. The role is responsible for instructional design, development, implementation, facilitating workshops, and supporting instructor-led, virtual, and eLearning solutions. Collaborates with the Talent Development Coordinator to support and maintain the content, assets, and other resources in Murata's Learning Management System (LMS). The position will build curated training, learning opportunities, and contribute to work that develops the capabilities and knowledge of Murata team members.


Essential Job Responsibilities


  • Partner with subject matter experts to create training materials, including e-courses, workshops, documents, etc.
  • ELearning Course Design: Lead the design process, including conducting needs assessments, defining learning objectives, storyboarding, and outlining content for eLearning courses.
  • Use critical thinking skills to identify, research, conduct data analysis, and recommend solutions to challenges.
  • Content Development: Create and curate multimedia content, including videos, audio, animations, infographics, and interactive elements, to enhance the learning experience and maintain learner engagement.
  • Create visually appealing and user-friendly learning materials, incorporating multimedia elements, simulations, quizzes, and assessments.
  • Maintain current documentation, designs, job aids, and other materials in the team shared drive ensuring it is organized, accessible, and up to date, coordinating regular reviews and updates.
  • Utilize instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and learning theories to create effective learning experiences for various audiences.
  • Setup, produce or troubleshoot for virtual training sessions in Zoom or Teams.
  • Strong project management and organization skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Experience developing learning solutions with Articulate Storyline.
  • Facilitate training in-person and online.
  • Provide support in management and maintenance of the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Write content, proofread, format and design materials, create graphics, etc.


Miscellaneous Job Responsibilities


  • Perform other duties as needed.
  • Provide project support and other related duties for the team.
  • Ability to operate with a high level of autonomy under direction from the Talent Development Manager.
  • Support the planning and logistics of on-site training programs.
  • Measure and evaluate training effectiveness.


Required Qualifications


  • Ability to build and manage relationships, including third-party members on training programs.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 2-5 years of experience in adult education theory/ methodology, corporate training, leadership development, or facilitation.
  • Experience with content authoring software (Articulate, Captivate, EasyGenerator).
  • In-depth knowledge of current leading-edge training practices.
  • Experience working with an LMS (SuccessFactors, Workday, Skillsoft, etc.).
  • Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
  • Knowledge of content providers (LinkedIn Learning, Coursera, Open Sesame).
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with audiences at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and balance short-term/long-term needs using problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Experience with design and related software (Canva, Adobe, Powtoon, Camtasia)
