Description

The Instructional Coach, TFA (Contractor) will virtually coach Teach for America Corps Members in Teachership, Formative Assessment and Differentiation, and Accelerating Growth. This contract role will join a team of contractors providing 1:1 virtual coaching to teachers. While having TFA experience as a Corps Member or a coach of Corps Members would be extremely valuable, it is not required to apply.

This contract posting will close on or before May 15, 2023. The contract is expected to begin with onboarding in mid-June.

Here are some of the things you can expect to accomplish in this role:

• Meet with teachers in 1:1 virtual settings for 30-minute sessions held every two weeks. During the sessions, support them to demonstrate growth and competency in the selected instructional outcomes: (1) Teachership, (2) Formative Assessment and Differentiation, and (3) Accelerating Growth.
• Create safe, collaborative, and productive coaching spaces for teachers to reflect on their practice and identify areas of growth.
• Support teachers to document their growth and development using our BetterLesson Lab and our Try-Measure-Learn coaching process.
• Utilize your knowledge of student-centered pedagogy and content to identify effective instructional strategies for teachers to implement in their school setting.
• Draw from existing BetterLesson resources and supports (instructional strategies, product experts, certification courses, classes, etc.) to deliver engaging 1:1 virtual coaching that supports impactful teaching and learning.

About You

• You are a current or former educator with a track record of success in creating student-centered learning environments and supporting other teachers to improve their own instructional practice and reflect on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• You have a talent for crafting compelling and clear verbal and written communications.
• You have experience coaching virtually or are excited to try it out.
• You are deeply committed to and have a track record of fostering culturally responsive teaching and learning practices that use formative assessment and differentiation to accelerate growth for all students.
• (Preferred but not required) You are a TFA alum.
• You are able to build trusting, supportive relationships with educators in a virtual environment.
• You love coaching early-career teachers, especially those who are Teach for America Corps Members.

What We Can Offer You

• A limited contract from June 2023 to June 2024 to deliver virtual coaching for TFA teachers.
• The opportunity to provide virtual coaching to early-career teachers on Teachership, Formative Assessment and Differentiation, and Accelerating Growth.
• Remote contract work.
• $36 per coaching session.
• There is no guarantee of hours, the number of coaching participants, or the number of meetings held.
