India Content Manager (Freelance / Contractor)

Major League Baseball is seeking an India Content Manager to support its efforts to grow Baseball and the MLB brand in India. This position will focus on coordinating and ultimately executing against a monthslong, multi-platform content campaign that will bring our sport to life for new fans in an exciting growth market. The ideal candidate will have experience in content planning and management across multiple platforms (including social, online video), strong creative instincts, and a proven ability to work cross-functionality with internal and external partners. This position will be based in the U.S. and will work on a freelance / contractor basis for the remainder of 2023, with potential for extension into 2024.

Key Responsibilities

• Work in an ‘agile’ manner across time zones and stakeholders, with strong and frequent communication
• Manage day-to-day relationships with key external media and agency partners to drive planning and execution of this initiative
• Analyze performance of MLB content on all platforms and use this analysis to inform content distribution decisions in real-time
• Work with internal MLB stakeholders and India-based media and production / creative agency partners to design a monthslong editorial content package and calendar for MLB in India – built around key ‘moments’ that will include live telecasts and longer-form content series
• Develop perspective on distribution channels options / trends / tradeoffs in India, and oversee allocation of our creative assets across these channels
• Keep target audiences and local culture top-of-mind, constantly looking for and identifying content opportunities that drive resonance with key demographics
• Lead the development of creative assets in collaboration with internal Creative & Content teams, plus external agencies
• Manage the scheduling and distribution of this editorial package across multiple platforms in India, including social media, YouTube, TV, and other online video outlets – in close coordination with live game telecast scheduling

Key Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role for a brand or creative / production agency; sports experience preferred
• Deep understanding of digital content distribution platforms and trends
• Attention to detail, strong time and project management skills
• Proven ability to design, manage, and execute multi-platform content campaigns / calendars
• Highly collaborative with strong interpersonal skills & presence, open to feedback
• Flexible work schedule to accommodate time zones and potential travel
• Willingness to travel to / from India, including for potential extended stays
• Familiarity w/ the Indian market (preferred)
• Strong creative instincts, with ability to communicate ideas in a logical and clear manner
