Job Description

The Implementation Manager (IM) will be responsible expected to manage/sponsor relationships with executive level stakeholders. In this role, the Implementation Manager can expertly manage the R1 solution build for modular and end to end projects. This individual plays a key role in design and decision making and is viewed as the project manager responsible for ensuring R1 tech solutions work as designed.

The successful candidate must have demonstrated critical thinking skills, be highly organized, and enjoy fostering team and client relationships for on-time and successful deployments resulting in positive ROI. The IM is responsible for project tracking, problem-solving and escalating issues or challenges and to mitigate issues quickly.

Responsibilities:

The role of the Implementation Manager is to establish, implement, develop, and control best practices for project management throughout the organization. This includes defining and documenting all policies and processes of project lifecycles to deliver these projects according to plan and within budget. The IM will also create formal methodologies for defining project key performance metrics and assist in resource allocation.

  • Review budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
  • Provide tools to determine project timelines and milestones/deliverables.
  • Indirectly guide and manage project managers of all projects within the PMO portfolio.
  • Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify key successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within and between various project teams.
  • Accept and assess status report, change requests and requirements documentation to ensure smooth project progression.
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project lifecycle.
  • Define how the scope, goals, and deliverables of projects should support business goals, in collaboration with senior management.
  • Where required, negotiate with department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
  • Effectively communicate and manage project expectations to project managers, owners, sponsors, team members, and other stakeholders in a clear and concise fashion.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise new project team leads, team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for assigned work.
  • Communicate project management standards and techniques to the appropriate training staff.
  • Develop best practices, techniques, and tools for project planning, execution, project management, ongoing milestone/deliverable tracking, communication, and key performance metrics.
  • Determine frequency and content of status reports from project managers, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas/mitigate project risks.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science, business administration or related field. Master’s degree in one these fields preferred. Equivalent experience may be acceptable.

Experience: 4 years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution. IT Program management experience required. Strong familiarity with project management software, such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, and Excel. Experience in developing and deploying project best practices, policies, procedures, and processes.

Communication Skills: Must exhibit strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to tailor messaging to the different levels of the organization.

Special Skills: Demonstrated success delivering numerous projects on time, meeting requirements and with high team satisfaction, including some complex projects and projects involving a number of project staff and users; experience implementing IT solutions; demonstrated expertise utilizing multiple project methodologies, such as Agile

Solid leadership skills with ability to lead conversations and decisions with technical resources. Can conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to read communication styles of project team leads, team members, and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines. Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating. Ability to defuse tension among and between project teams, should it arise. Advanced interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Adept at conducting research into administrative and technical project-related issues. Must have a working knowledge of traditional and cloud infrastructure technologies.

Travel: 20% depending upon project assignments.
