JOB SUMMARY: Brief description of what this person does, in simple direct terms

Assist in measurement, design, simulation, and test of image processing for camera processors, video display, and image compression. Provide analytical support of image processing system performance to the product development teams. Design test procedures, test fixtures, and other testing support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: List the essential duties and responsibilities of the position, in order of importance and/or amount of time spent.

• Develop test protocols and perform image analysis.
• Assist image processing designers with small development tasks as needed.
• Documentation, and report generation
• Assist in design verification using test equipment and software.
• Perform various data acquisition and analysis tasks.
• Regular attendance

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES: List other important functions that are secondary duties but may be time consuming.

• Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: What does a person in this position need to be able to do?

• Experience using computer simulation software (Matlab and Simulink).
• Knowledge of linear systems, filter design, and spectral analysis.
• Knowledge of OpenCV (preferred)
• Knowledge of C/C++/CUDA/OpenCL (preferred)
• Understanding of optical systems and colorimetry (preferred).
• Good written and oral communication
• Develop MATLAB programs and Simulink models for image processing
• Understanding of CCD/CMOS image sensing (preferred).
• Knowledge of FPGA programming (preferred)
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: What is the usual educational background and work experience of an individual qualified to perform this job?

• Advanced Digital Signal Processing or Image Processing coursework.
• Experience with computer simulation using MATLAB and Simulink.
• BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related field.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: What are the specific physical and mental demands of this position?

• Visual acuity sufficient for testing.
• Ability to lift computer and video equipment (approx. 20 lbs).
• Ability to connect electrical devices
• Ability to sit for extended periods (during meetings and computer work).

• Detail peer review of work accomplished is required and scheduled as required.
• Work with the image processing engineers and supervisor with a minimum of supervision.
