Job Description

Duties

  • Identifies training needs, formulates training plans based on identification of skill gaps, and provide input to senior leadership.
  • Establishes metrics to measure student employment program accomplishments, prepares reports of findings, and leads strategic planning efforts to enhance and improve programs.
  • Coordinates with key internal stakeholders surrounding the internship programs.
  • Researches, develops and prepares, and implements organizational reports and documents directly related to student employment programs, initiatives, and hiring authorities.
  • Serves as the agency's Pathways Program Officer (PPO)
  • Plans, coordinates, and conducts recruitment events and activities for Pathways Programs, such as Internships, Recent Graduates, and Presidential Management Fellows.
  • Conducts bureau-wide assessments of student employment programs.
  • Advises senior leadership, hiring managers, HR personnel and other interested parties on student employment program policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Serve as the primary POC for Pathways accountability functions for the Bureau.
  • Provides guidance on Pathways Program activities, to include recruitment, selection, placement, rotations, orientation, training and development, travel, human resources and administrative services, and conversion.
  • Develops and implements guidance and agency policy for student employment programs for use by program participants, supervisors, prospective hiring managers, and all other relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications

In order to be rated as qualified for this position, we must be able to determine that you meet the qualification requirements - please be sure to include this information in your resume. No assumptions will be made about your experience.
You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: Experience managing a student employment program; pulling reports, compiling information to prepare written documentation, presenting findings and recommendations on specific recruitment plans; conducting outreach and recruitment activities specific to student employment programs.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
