JOB DETAILS
This Position is located in Stuarts Draft, Virginia. Relocation Assistance Offered
Cornerstone Building Brands is looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to work on-site in our Stuarts Draft, VA facility. This position will oversee two direct reports and be part of a 250+ employee location. This team works on dynamic projects throughout the year and will be part of strategic thinking cross functionally as well.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- This role partners with all levels of employees, primarily people managers, to help enhance the employee experience and support the business strategy through HR activities
- Understand external trends in the marketplace and make recommendations on how those could affect internal employees
- Collaborate with department leaders and their teams to ensure talent strategies are linked to our business priorities, support individual team members, departmental, and plant-wide ambitions
- Oversee and take a proactive approach to Employee Relations, and make recommendations by providing guidance, interpreting policy and issue resolution
- Partner on hiring and development and advancement of team members; this includes working with hiring managers and Talent Acquisition to fill open positions, onboard new hires and build strong internal and external pipelines
- Responsible for delivering high-quality HR service and supporting a broad range of HR responsibilities
- Support change management efforts, nurture our culture and create unique team member experiences
- Build and maintain strong relationships as a trusted partner and employee advocate, in support of developing the optimal culture to drive performance, retention and engagement
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of employment and labor laws, such as FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, etc
- Must be knowledgeable of benefits administration, specifically the annual enrollment process, life status changes, COBRA, etc
- HR Professional certification strongly preferred
- Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the manufacturing areas
- Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and present information to management, employees, corporate personnel, and vendors/suppliers
- Excellent analytical, problem resolution, negotiating and project management skills
- Strong organizational skills; and the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and priorities to meet established and changing deadlines
- Must be willing to work flexible work schedule to ensure HR availability across multiple shifts
- Demonstrated leadership ability wit proven experience in strategy development and problem solving
- Normal mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer
- Must have experience with HR systems
- 6+ years in progressive HR with experience in Manufacturing/Production or similar environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
