Job Description

What's the Short Version?

The Manager, Human Resources serves as a trusted advisor to the Distribution Center (DC) General Manager, leadership team and staff on HR disciplines and efforts. They are both an employee champion and change agent. The Manager, Human Resources assesses and anticipates HR-related needs, communicating proactively with the DC General Manager and Director of Employee Engagement.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Lead full cycle recruiting and onboarding for all exempt and non-exempt positions.
  • Provide HR guidance and support to the DC General Manager and Assistant General Manager.
  • Manage the DC HR staff and their efforts, including time keeping, payroll, benefits, and recruiting.
  • Frequently walk the production floor and engage with employees.
  • Provide performance management to leadership team (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions, and goal setting); administer the performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the DC.
  • Help manage and resolve complex employee relations issues; conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Administer and communicate benefit programs such as life, medical, and dental insurance, PTO, 401K, leave of absence, and employee assistance programs.
  • Participate in selection, evaluation, and monitoring of leadership and employee training programs.

What Are We Looking For?

  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including benefit and compensation practices, employee relations, diversity, performance management, federal and state employment laws. (High proficiency)
  • 4-6 years of leadership experience in the field of Human Resources.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR)-HRCI Upon Hire preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and often with General Manager to ensure the success of the DC in all areas relating to the HR disciplines. (Medium proficiency)
  • Be self-directed and motivated.
  • Strong conflict management skills.
  • Learn and understand, at a high level, all functions of the Distribution Center. (High proficiency)
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree Human Resources, Business, Related Field or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to work in-house daily to support and create meaningful relationships.
  • Takes personal responsibility for own actions, keeping commitments and asking for and offering help when needed. (High proficiency)
  • Strong organizational skills, with high attention to details. (Medium proficiency)
  • 4-6 years resolving complex employee relations issues.
  • Manufacturing or distribution experience with warehouse experience required.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and the ability to quickly adapt to change in the work environment. (High proficiency)
