The Human Resources Manager at John Soules Foods leads the location’s HR team and acts as the face of the company in the community. This position provides in person support to Tyler, TX plant employees. The Tyler facility is a further processing food facility with approximately 1000 employees, producing both chicken and beef fully cooked products across two shifts. The position is based in Tyler, on the same property as our corporate office, and provides support to corporate positions as needed.
The right person for this role is a strong leader, who leads their team by example, and is skilled with developing others. This person has experience successfully managing people and process. This person has improved turnover in previous roles, and understands how to execute a root cause analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Analyzes data, identifies areas of opportunity, and manages projects to improve results
- Collaborating and partnering with Operations, Safety, Food Safety/Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and other groups to help teams meet their objectives
- Manages benefits and leave administration, organizing communication and education efforts for employees on benefits
- Plans and manages HR budget
- Uses judgement and asks for help when needed, bringing in subject matter experts, like legal support, when the need arises
- Performs and oversees all generalist HR duties, including investigations
- Creates strategy for employee engagement, manages budget, planning and execution of activities
- All other activities under the scope of HR at JSF
- Manages annual compensation review and increase processes, makes recommendations on changes to compensation processes
- Maintaining and strengthening our relationship with our local community
- Creating and maintaining a best-in-class program for new hire onboarding and orientation
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal and state employment laws, including government reporting
- Recruiting and hiring for salaried and hourly openings, maintaining our commitment to hiring in compliance with all federal and state laws
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of HR experience required
- 3-5 years of experience in a food processing, manufacturing, or warehousing environment preferred
- 3-5 years of management experience in HR preferred
