General Summary
Working in partnership with the Human Resources Director, the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for planning, and coordinating employee activities for the Community.
Qualifications
  • Computer proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, ATS and HRIS systems.
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Management or related field a plus.
  • Excellent customer service skills. Must display a friendly, courteous and helpful attitude toward the Residents, other employees, and the public.
  • Solid knowledge of California and federal labor regulations, personnel administration, employee relations, compensation and benefits administration, recruiting and selection, and training and development.
  • 3-5 years human resources experience.
Principle Duties
  • Tracks employee evaluation dates and sends reminders to department heads.
  • May assist with employee relations issues with either employees or managers through effective communication and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Reviews and submits Workers Compensation reports. Actively manages cases in collaboration with the HR, Safety, and Department Director to maintain required logs, prepare necessary reports, analyze injury logs, and submits recommendations to supervisors regarding areas of concern.
  • Coordinates benefits enrollment activities – including processing of enrollment and updating HRIS as appropriate. Maintains company health/benefit enrollments. Reconciles monthly insurance bills and audits. Point of contact for employee benefit questions. Works with broker/ vendors as appropriate.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of Human Resources policies and procedures, projects and reports as needed. Works closely with director and other HR staff members on assigned projects.
  • Conducts New Hire Orientation that fosters a positive first impression of the company. In addition, works with the Human Resources team to coordinate or manage activities which may include employee parties and other events.
  • Completes exit documentation and processing for terminated employees. Conducts exit interviews for front line staff and provides feedback to ED, HRD, and department heads.
  • Develops recruitment strategies ensuring qualified employees are recruited and hired in a cost effective and timely manner. Activities include maintaining Community’s career pages, keeping job postings current on websites, and developing other community relationships.
  • Handles the full cycle of employee leave of absences in collaboration with the HR Director.
  • Tracks and maintains certification, licensure, and work permit expirations and ensures all on file are current.
