The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting an exciting new restaurant concept, Hello Hilo. In this role they will collaborate with leadership and support the People Operations and Talent Acquisition teams. Key aspects of this role will be building and sustaining the foundational elements of employee relations, people technology support and core compliance. Employees in this position may interact with their manager weekly to receive guidance and feedback. Although routine decisions within the general scope of the role can be made independently, non-routine activities may require a manager’s advance approval.


Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities


Talent Acquisition Support


  • Assists in onboarding and new hire orientation.
  • Support the execution of a consistent and irresistible candidate and employee experience.
  • Support the Talent Acquisition Team in the execution of recruitment activities to effectively staff the operations, including coordinating interview logistics (e.g., timing, location, interviewers, communications) and ensuring a smooth recruitment process.


People Operations Support


  • Manage the conflict de-escalation process, hotline call procedures and ER process.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practice.
  • Develop key performance indicator dashboards, analyze available data and provide improvement insights to leadership.
  • Support local leadership in managing employee files, handbook compliance and audits.
  • Support payroll requests, manager training, and key deadlines for each biweekly payroll run.


People Technology Support


  • Support managers with ongoing Workday transactions and processes.
  • Support the training of managers and employees in Workday, ADP and time clock usage.


Other


  • Performs other duties as assigned.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE)


  • Preferred – Prior experience working in a retail restaurant.
  • Required – Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related degree, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Required – three years working as an HR Generalist in a hospitality environment.
  • Preferred - Working knowledge of Workday, ADP Workforce Now, ADP Workforce Manager.
  • Required – The ability to both activate and amplify our Aloha Values, namely Excellence, Dignity, and Telling it like it is in a way that can be heard, as well as the Aloha Behaviors of Emotional Intelligence, Critical Thinking, Collaboration, and Curiosity.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
