Job Description
Position: Human Resources Coordinator/Human Resources Associate

The ideal candidate will assist the Director, Human Resources (HR), in managing HR, Training, Culture & Office Operations functions and help facilitate strategic initiatives in each of those areas. They will maintain and enhance the organization's work environment/functionality by planning and implementing HR, Training & Culture programs to support the team. A passion for helping others is required!


HUMAN RESOURCES RESPONSIBLITIES


Recruiting


  • Maintain job descriptions and coordinate posting of open job using our technology partners.
  • Assist in sourcing candidates through a variety of online and offline channels.
  • Manage recruitment of candidates, not sourced through executive recruiters, to include on-going communication with candidates, reference checks, verbal offers, and follow-up rejection letters.
  • Help manage recruiters to ensure that they have a thorough understanding of the agency's job requirements; coordinate scheduling of all applicants; provide summary of feedback on candidates.
  • Manage Co-op/Internship Program to include developing relationships with colleges/universities to source intern & professional candidates; providing follow-up evaluations to universities to assist in measuring success of program and applicants.
  • Schedule interviews; collect feedback on each candidate.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date database of all resumes received.


Employee Onboarding


  • Manage onboarding process for new hires for smooth hiring and onboarding process.
  • Ensure completion of all required procedures and forms (i.e., I-9, employment application, etc.).
  • Work with internal team to coordinate the first day, first week and scheduling of all new employee orientation schedule(s).


Training & Development


  • Manage and develop the development of LinkedIn Learning Paths for learners across the agency.
  • Help develop and manage a training program working with internal stakeholders.


Performance Management


  • Monitor performance review schedule; provide consistent follow-up with managers to ensure that reviews are completed on a timely basis and that HR files are complete with copies of documentation.
  • Conduct periodic check-ins with new hires.


General HR and Office Related


  • Assist in coordinating agency-wide meetings.
  • Small office projects, kitchen maintenance, as requested.
  • Study trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law.
  • Assist in resolving minor office equipment issues coordinating with IT partner as needed.
  • Assist with planning and execution of agency culture initiatives.
  • Maintain HRIS system.


Skills Required


  • Have a proactive mind-set constantly looking for new ideas/ways to enhance the employee experience.
  • Foster strong internal relationships and support employee's concerns, while consistently maintaining a balance by not compromising the goals of the organization.
  • Provide effective direction to other departments, as it relates to performing Human Resources responsibilities.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to anticipate and lead employee perceptions of agency standards & practices, and develop any necessary action steps required to ensure comfort levels.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Must possess a general knowledge of HR practices.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE And REQUIREMENTS


  • MUST be in person in the Newtown, Connecticut office a minimum of one day per week.
  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • One year of HR experience or coursework preferred.


Our office is located in Newtown, Connecticut. Candidates for this position must be available to work in our Newtown, Connecticut office a minimum of one day per week. Our office hours are 8:30am-5:30pm.
