Job Description
Riverside Research is an independent National Security Nonprofit dedicated to research and development in the national interest. We provide high-end technical services, research and development, and prototype solutions to some of the country’s most challenging technical problems.

Riverside Research is seeking a HR Generalist to work out of our Dayton, Ohio location. The HR Generalist will serve as a resource on human resources policies and procedures for the organization and will support multiple facets of HR-related matters to include compliance administration, benefits administration, onboarding/orientation, leave administration, HRIS data entry (hires, job changes, terminations), etc.


Riverside Research offers a hybrid work schedule for this position – Required in-person office presence 3 days a week. Riverside Research has two locations close to Wright Patterson Air Force Base and the HR Generalist will spend time in both locations. Locations are approximately five minutes apart.


All positions at Riverside Research require US citizenship.


Duties/Responsibilities


  • Lead and conduct new hire orientation; prepare paperwork and schedules for smooth new-hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first day experience
  • Manage leaves program to include military leave, STD and LTD Programs as well as other legal leave requirements.
  • Manage Tuition Assistance Program
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.
  • Serve as a resource on human resources issues, effectively communicate human resources policies, and explain human resources processes and procedures. Resolve basic issues as appropriate. Refer other issues to human resources manager/director or supervisor for resolution.
  • Conduct Employment Verifications
  • Compliance administration to include; AAP, EEO, Vets 4212, etc.
  • Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new-hire orientations, and exit interviews, including data entry in human resources information systems (HRIS) and audits for accuracy and compliance
  • Responsible for Riverside Research Internship Program
  • Ability to develop, write, maintain and deliver standard reports, queries, graphs, charts, etc. and respond to ad hoc data requests utilizing HRIS system.


Minimum Requirements


  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish self as a trusted advisor to all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to adapt, prioritize tasks and to organize workload to assure that short timelines are met given frequent interruptions.
  • Proficient in MS office suite
  • Knowledge of HR laws, regulations, practices, procedures, and programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business-related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years demonstrated experience as an HR generalist or business partner.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% to other Riverside Research office locations.
  • Understanding of the relevant HR disciplines such as performance management, employee relations, training, and development.


Desired Qualifications


  • 5 years demonstrated experience as and HR generalist or business partner.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR Certification, or related certification
  • Knowledge of working in a government contracting environment, preferably in support of DoD or IC customers is valuable.
  • Experience with HRIS, Ultipro/UKG-Pro platform preferred
