Job Description
Summary/Objective
Promotes safety in the workplace by developing, maintaining, and coordinating safety procedures and ensure compliance with federal, state, local and corporate regulatory programs. Evaluates and follows up on areas identified in the workplace as items for improvement. Conducts any types of preventions to avoid accidents from taking place. This position will provide support for daily operations of the Human Resources Department. Assist with the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resource function.
Essential Duties
  • Perform weekly workplace inspections.
  • Review injury/illness and non-injury incident investigation reports and follow up as necessary.
  • Use engineering and administrative controls to minimize safety and occupational health hazards
  • Assists with managing personnel files and personnel actions
  • Identify companywide safety training needs
  • Provide technical safety support and information to production personnel and management
  • Coordinates safety initiatives, recordkeeping and document control, hazard identification and control, incident investigation and medical management, and education and training.
  • Monitor safety regulations and provide support to plant and management personnel to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations.
  • Prepare written safety procedures and policies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Develop and coordinate the safety training program
  • Assist with recruiting, interviews, onboarding.
  • Assists employees with understanding of HR policies & procedures.
  • Promote safety and health awareness through training programs
  • Assist with incident investigations to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Support plant personnel in selection of appropriate personal protective equipment
  • Develops and conducts corrective action plans to help avoid future accidents. Works with HR to develop and administer appropriate corrective actions.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to assist HR department
  • Knowledge of Federal, State & local guidelines (OSHA)
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
