Position Summary The Safety Coordinator will create, implement, coordinate, and continuously improve safety programs for the company. They provide consultation, leadership ill , and training to ensure programs and services are implemented with the highest safety standards. Ensures policies and procedures are monitored, documented, and updated to meet current business needs and requirements with a focus on an injury free workplace. Works with Safety Consultant to create, update, and deliver company safety programs and training. Primary Responsibilities (Essential Duties)
  • Works with all Manufacturing staff to establish procedures, standards, and systems related to safety.
  • Ensure safety policies and procedures are monitored and updated to meet current business needs and requirements.
  • Act as the on-floor Leader to implement standards for Safety and Health for the company.
  • Create all safety incident reports and investigations and send to HR immediately along with implementing corrective actions to eliminate any future similar incidents.
  • Produce, train, and document all Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for all equipment and processes.
  • Determine future safety training needs - set an annual calendar for these training sessions.
  • Ensure all new (temporary) manufacturing employees are properly oriented and trained on the safe operation of all equipment in the plant prior to usage.
  • Continuously monitor the plant for hazardous safety and health conditions and ensure identified hazards are corrected, eliminated, or guarded.
  • Ensure that manufacturing processes comply with occupational safety & health (OSHA) regulations as well as similar corporate regulations.
  • Audit facility operations to verify compliance with EHS regulatory and corporate requirements.
  • Work with Safety Consultant to create and maintain training materials and all appropriate documentation.
  • Assist production as needed. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary responsibility satisfactorily. Education / Experience (an equivalent combination of education and/or experience) Associates degree in Safety or related fields 1+ Years of Experience in Safety and/or Compliance 3+ Years of Experience in Area Manufacturing Technical Skills Microsoft Office Products Licenses / Certifications OSHA 10 Training preferred. Physical Requirements Able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. unassisted. Able to be walk for extended periods of time. Able to communicate effectively with coworkers and managers.   • Lead Safety Team via monthly meetings with the goal of total commitment from all SolarBOS employees to maintain a safe, injury free workplace.
  • Document Near Misses, First Aid, and Recordable Injuries - implement trainings to ensure all Near Misses/First Aids do not turn into future recordables.
