Job Summary:
This position is responsible for all leave/time-off functions of Workday. This includes FMLA, unpaid time off, prior state service adjustments, summer accruals, workers' compensation adjustments, accrual adjustments, and terminal leave payment review. Also responsible for responding to Workday tickets, troubleshooting/resolving issues concerning time tracking and leave in Workday, and Workday testing.
Job Responsibilities:
40%- Responsible for all leave/time-off functions in Workday, including but not limited to entering all continuous related leave transactions, ensuring that the leave events in Workday reflect all related approved leave documents,; assisting the manager in responding to emergency-related leave processes and actions according to state and federal policies; processing terminations in Workday, and ensuring the accuracy of all leave balances that are paid out to former workers; reviewing the accuracy of adjustments to service dates and overriding balances for employees who have prior state service to ensure the new employees’ leave accruals are correct; administering leave related functions such as workers compensation adjustments, leave without pay accruals, etc. Understand and interpret LSU leave policies in order to advise and guide departments to ensure compliance.
30%-Develop an understanding of the time tracking and absence modules in Workday and serve as backup SME, assisting with testing, identifying reporting needs to satisfy auditor and policy compliance, and assisting the manager with identifying training needs and developing appropriate materials. Interpret and apply FLSA rules, Louisiana Civil Service policies, and LSU compensation and pay policies within Workday functions to ensure correct premium, shift differential, and overtime pay for hourly employees.
15%-Serve as first-line troubleshooting for time tracking and absence-related Workday issues. Responsible for providing customer service to individuals who submit help tickets through LSU’s online Workday customer service system, as well as responding to questions from other campus’ Absence Partners and advising on best practices in Workday. Research and troubleshoot issues as they arise. This individual will be required to be thoroughly knowledgeable about Workday in order to have the ability to respond to these customers.
10%- Responsible for supporting audit functions including but not limited to: monitoring the use of special leave; emergency-related time entry, and testing Workday reporting functionality for monitoring and compliance. Contact employees and/or the department to make appropriate corrections to irregularities that are consistent with LSU leave policy.
5%- Other duties as assigned by the Manager.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 1-year related experience in a professional environment.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in timekeeping, Payroll, or Human Resource Management with Workday.
