Title: Human Resources Business Partner Retail (HRBP)
Reports to: Senior Director, Human Resources Business Partner- J. Crew Factory
Location: New York Metro area
  • This role is responsible for driving the people agenda for the store population. This leader will be an important member of their assigned leadership team and be the lead contributor to the execution of the people strategy. Individual will be expected to be a collaborative partner and ensure the people strategy aligns with the needs of the business. Lead the implementation of all HR programs with HRBPs to drive change across assigned business units.
Primary responsibilities include:
  • Partner and drive the people agenda for the assigned business units; main areas of focus are; Talent Management & Development, Performance Management, Succession Planning, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), and Change Management
  • Proactively provide solutions related to associate population, talent, and organizational matters to HRBP and senior business leaders
  • Drive the talent planning process for the assigned business units.
  • Seek to have an awareness of trends in the retail industry to provide insight and action where needed
  • Implement companywide HR programs, ensuring programs remain relevant in meeting needs of the business, timing that aligns with store goals; provide feedback to Lead HRBP on business needs
  • Coach and develop Regionals, District Managers and senior business leaders.
  • Champion the organizational values and culture
  • Lead, coach and partner with leaders through people issues to be forward thinking about implications of people/ business decisions
  • Business partner expert in seeking resolution to all HR matters that arise in the stores; compliance, performance management, policies, and liaison to other HR functional areas.
  • Travel to store locations as needed for visits, trainings, assessments etc.
  • Strong ability to assess, diagnose, and create plans around potential exposure in assigned business units. Partner with Associate Relations when needed.

Candidate Profile
  • Track record of building relationships, coaching and leading groups through all aspects of people management.
  • Passion and drive to create a culture of diversity, inclusivity, collaboration and teamwork
  • Strong understanding of HR functions, methods, strategies, procedures, and policies.
  • An experienced human resource professional with at least 10 years of experience, some retail experience required.

Salary Range: $97,600.00 - $122,000.00

The base salary offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region of work premises, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
