Responsibilities:

  • Conduct salary analysis for new employee offers, promotions, and equity increases
  • Provide Employee Relations support to Managers as issues arise. Guide Managers and employees on processes and resolution. Confer with HR Director for complex issues. Create slides and lists for annual Service Awards
  • Work with the HR Director to implement and coordinate HR programs and initiatives supporting the overall organizational goals and objectives including Assist in supporting the DHVI Diversity Strategic Plan and Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity efforts.
  • Serve as Department Payroll Representative managing iforms, gross adjustments, supplements, compensatory and non-compensatory payroll, and other payroll related items.
  • Make salary recommendations to hiring manager and HR Director considering the salary analysis, internal equity, and comp ratio
  • Provide Career counseling discussion with employees knowing what Duke positions may fit their career path.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the HR Director.
  • Work with DHVI HR Team on talent acquisition and retention activities including but not limited to the development of search plans and strategic recruitment strategies / initiatives, advertising and cost analysis, job fairs, candidate sourcing and evaluation, tracking and evaluating time to fill data, turnover analysis, and streamlining of the recruitment processes.
  • Provide guidance to managers with job description development and position management. Work with the Finance team to ensure funding availability for staffing requests using the IPAF process. Initiate vacancy management action forms, create positions, and manage requisition open and close processes as required. Monitor open requisition activity/status and make recommendations to facilitate/expedite the hiring process. Work with managers on temporary recruitment needs and manage the process with Duke Temporary Services.
  • Monitor and create monthly HR Metric reports. Create charts and graphs for presentation. Work with Business Intelligence Developer to create HR Dashboard format using software adopted by DHVI for other departments.
  • Serve as liaison and partner between DHVI and Central Recruitment, Corporate Payroll, Staff & Labor Relations, APT Office, Duke Temp Services, Visa Services, and other groups within Duke.
  • Manage all LOA requests including FMLA. Work with Managers to let them know dates of leave and any restrictions. Communicate and provide documentation to employees for approval and confirmation. Report all LOAs in the Duke system.

Required Qualifications at this Level:

  • Experience: Work requires two years of business, administrative and/or supervisory experience with exposure to supervisory or human resource policies and practices related to employee relations. A master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for 2 years of experience.
  • Education/Training: Work requires organizational, analytical and communication skills acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program.
