As our Organizational Design Consultant, you will have a critical role in shaping our co-op structure, working to optimize our organization for success in a dynamic and evolving market landscape. You will be tasked with the development and implementation of effective organizational structures, processes, and systems that align with our strategic objectives and bolster our growth plans. Your work will involve deep collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Human Resources, Operations, and Executive Leadership, to drive organizational effectiveness. You will be instrumental in fostering a high-performance work environment and enhancing REI’s capability to fulfill its mission of inspiring, educating, and outfitting its members and the community for a lifetime of outdoor adventure and stewardship.


  • Partner with the Talent Management Team and HRBPs to develop and enhance performance management processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement organizational design strategies that support business objectives and enhance organizational performance.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Human Resources, Operations, and Executive Leadership, to align organizational design with business strategies.
  • Facilitate change management initiatives associated with organizational design changes, including communication and training.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions to educate leaders and employees on organizational design principles, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Establish a consistent co-op wide Org design model.
  • Analyze workforce capabilities and skill gaps, providing recommendations for talent acquisition, development, and succession planning.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented organizational design changes, adjusting as needed to drive desired outcomes.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to define clear job roles, responsibilities, and reporting lines that promote accountability, efficiency, and collaboration.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in organizational design and change management, incorporating relevant insights into the company's practices.
  • Design and implement change management initiatives to support the adoption of new organizational structures, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruptions.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of the existing organizational structure, processes, and workflows, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.


Bring your passion and expertise


  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools to support decision-making processes.
  • Proven ability to assess, analyze and communicate client group needs, performance; and collaborate with HR partners to identify and effectively integrate solutions that deliver the desired results
  • Proven performance consulting skills that link performance (group & individual) to business goals
  • Preferred general knowledge of all HR competencies: recruiting & retention, organizational and individual performance & development, compensation, benefits & rewards, compliance & risk management, and employee practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex organizational structures and processes, identify areas for improvement, and propose effective solutions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, or a related field. A Masters degree is a plus.
  • Change management expertise, including the ability to facilitate and guide employees through organizational transitions.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of organizational design principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential information
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • 10 Years Proven experience as an Organizational Design Practitioner, preferably in a large-scale organization with complex structures.

Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include a wide array of factors, including: your specific skills and experience, geographic location or other relevant factors.


The pay for this role is: $111000 - $177500 per year .
