Position Summary

STERIS has an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR Generalist ready to move into an HR Manager role. This role is open to hybrid work schedule.

This role partners with managers and employees at various levels to provide HR guidelines on of a broad range of HR programs and initiatives in support of business objectives. In partnership with the HR Team for the business division and business leadership, will implement solutions to address recruiting, talent management, development, training, employee engagement, compensation and total rewards, and HR compliance matters.

This position supports our Infection Prevention Technologies groups in two locations: Eden Prairie and Plymouth, Minneapolis.

Duties

  • Provide HR Support to business area/department/location(s) - Partners with managers and employees at various levels to provide HR support and solutions to assigned segment(s) of the business or location(s).
  • Recruiting – full lifecycle support. May partner with central recruiting team to guide selection process with assigned areas.
  • Training –facilitate HR training sessions as needed, and help develop training programs.
  • Lead HR programs and projects – HR research, project management, reporting/ analytics, and champion HR initiatives.
  • Employee Relations/Performance Management – consult with and coach managers as they handle performance issues and talent development needs. Directly handle employee reations issues, conduct investigations and recommend solutions.
  • Responsible for supporting and leading HR solutions in alignment with the business strategies of assigned business group(s) and/or location(s).

Required Experience

  • 3 years of experience must include recruiting, employee relations, performance management, succession planning, training and development, and compensation practices.
  • Proficiency with HR systems (HRIS, ATS)
  • Extensive background in Employment Law, both State and Federal; Preventive Labor Relations; Environmental Health and Safety and Security
  • 5-7 years progressive HR Generalist experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, Behavioral Sciences, or Organizational Development.

Preferred Experience

  • Lean experience and knowledge
  • Knowledge and application of current HR trends, best practices and compliance issues.

Skills

  • Demonstrated success translating business strategies into organizational and HR strategies and actions.
  • Comprehensive HR experience, including a complete understanding of and hands-on exposure to the full mix of HR functions (preferably in a global environment).
  • Experience with process improvement approaches (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Practical Process Improvement, etc.)
  • Experience working across a complex organizational matrix.
  • A track record of positive results and an ability to show how his/her programs and policies have contributed to the growth and bottom-line profitability of an organization while enhancing or driving cultural change.
  • He/she should be someone who is sought out for their opinion and advice and who can forge and maintain close relationships across all constituencies.
  • Self-motivated; bias for action.
  • Effective negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • 1Strong analytical skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent multi-tasking, priority setting capabilities.
