Position Summary
Reporting to the VP, Human Resources, the HR Generalist will provide support to the HR Management team and regularly work in the following areas of Human Resources: recruitment, employee relations, HRIS, compensation, benefits, and compliance.

Pay Range: $75,000 - $82,000/ year
Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties
  • Responds to first level employee relations issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and EEOC complaints, as assigned by the Human Resources Management team.
  • Sources, screens, and interviews job applicants to fill craft hourly and salaried openings.
  • Will support both US and Canadian operations, approximately 50% of time spent working with each country.
  • Communicates various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations. Maintains knowledge of changing laws.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.
  • Runs compensation data within PayFactors/PayScale for new positions and promotions and makes recommendations.
  • Runs reports within HRIS (JDE) and ATS (Success Factors), works closely with the HRIS team to provide data to HR Management team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to travel to Eastern Canada as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, organizational development, or relevant discipline required.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent follow through skills required.
  • Experience with HRIS, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.
  • Problem-solving abilities and highly refined analytical skills.
  • Previous experience running reports in HRIS and ATS, experience with compensation.
  • A minimum of 3 years of professional level Human Resources experience in the US and Canada
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Excellent communication skills; written, verbal, and presentation.
  • The ability and desire to work as a team player.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Frequently speaks, reads, writes, and uses a computer keyboard.
  • 10-20% travel, within the US and Canada
  • Frequently sits for long periods of time.
  • This position will be a hybrid position, 3-4 days per week home with approximately 1-2 days per week from our Pittsburgh office (or traveling to sites).The schedule may vary on a week-by-week basis.
