Job Description
Job purpose

The Human Resources Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including onboarding staff, administering benefits, leave program administrative activities, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute HR programs including but not limited to compensation (incentives), benefits, leave of absences, employment relations, performance and talent management, productivity, and functional continuous improvement.
  • Monitors and completes employment verifications.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Reviews, tracks, and maintains document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory requirements.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources and employment law.
  • Maintains new hire orientations and employee recognition/service programs.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of human resource management experience, preferred.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Advanced time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • BS or BA in Business Administration, Human Resources, Psychology, or other related field of study.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of business acumen, financial concepts, and procedures.

Working conditions

  • Minimal travel requirements as needed for business purposes.
  • Working space will be in a quiet open environment seated within a cubical.
  • Work assignments may be completed remotely and/or available company offices within respective markets.

Physical requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer and/or keyboard
  • Heavy methods of verbal and auditory communication via phone, virtual calls, and/or email
