Job Description

HR Generalist

$60-75k plus 25% bonus

Kansas City, MO - in-office role - Crossroads district

Bell & Associates has been engaged to help our client find their next HR Generalist. The HR Generalist plays a vital role in supporting the HR team by efficiently handling daily administrative duties, ensuring comprehensive documentation, and promptly addressing internal and external inquiries with accuracy and professionalism.


Responsibilities

  • Manage the organization's response to COVID-related issues and collaborate with management on employee relations matters.
  • Manage all aspects of union/hourly hiring, including recruitment, sourcing, pre-employment screenings, new hire paperwork, and onboarding/offboarding processes.
  • Ensure proper documentation for Intent to Hire/Good faith efforts in compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Update the HR Dashboard for areas of responsibility to monitor HR metrics effectively.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to internal and external HR-related inquiries and requests, providing assistance as needed.
  • Maintain the Company's HR Information System (HRIS) and ensure accurate and up-to-date electronic employee files.
  • Participate in company events to foster relationships with the workforce and strengthen employee engagement.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
  • Develop and expand recruiting efforts to build a strong union talent pipeline.
  • Complete records, reporting, and other documentation required by federal, state, and local agencies in coordination with accounting and the Director of HR.
  • Contribute towards the achievement of strategic pillar goals and priorities.
  • Assist with implementing HRIS integrations with payroll and benefit providers.
  • Ensure training completed outside the system is appropriately tracked and recorded.
  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies, including attending career fairs and networking events, to attract top talent.
  • Update workplace posters and provide job board documents to project managers when needed.
  • Provide support and assistance for any HRM-related questions or issues.
  • Maintain applicant tracking system job postings for union/hourly positions and track relevant analytics.
  • Foster and champion a positive company culture that promotes employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Assist with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) compliance reporting and supporting EEO efforts.
  • Handle advertisements for Diversity Business Enterprises (DBE), Minority Business Enterprises (MBE), and Women Business Enterprises (WBE).
  • Prepare and submit workforce reports required by federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Assist with compliance-related projects and initiatives.


Requirements


  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or a related field (Preferred)
  • Reliable and approachable, with a genuine interest in working with a diverse range of individuals.
  • 1-2 years of administrative experience (Preferred)
  • Demonstrates professional integrity and a sense of responsibility and accountability.
