Job Title : Human Resources Generalist
Classification: Salaried
Location: Manati, Puerto Rico
Reporting to: Site Managing Director
Human Resources Business Partner PR (During Training Period)
Position Summary: The Human Resources Generalist (HRG) provides a wide variety of both complex and routine administrative services. The HRG's primary responsibilities include assisting the HRM with the administration of weekly payroll processing; recruiting and on-boarding of new hires and working with the contracting agencies to ensure timely fulfillment of temporary staffing requests. The HRG provides administrative support to human resources functions as needed
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Respond to staff, vendor, and candidate employee relations inquiries
· Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
· Assist with Unemployment process
· Assist with audits as needed
· Assist with event coordination
· Maintains company organization charts and the employee directory.
· Assists in the evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of the department in relation to established goals.
· Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in the efficiency of the department and services performed.
· Maintains human resource personnel records and compiles reports from the database.
· Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
· Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, and communicating benefit information to employees.
Payroll Administration:
· Assist the HRM with processing weekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees;
· Review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets;
· Track and deduct all garnishments and other special payroll deductions.
· Responsible for payroll-related issues as personal expenses through payroll, benefit deductions, fringe benefits and benefit reporting on W-2.
· Verify updates to payroll records including changes in exemptions, tax status, benefit elections, and other status updates
· Prepare and audit a reconciliation on a per pay period basis
· Prepare reports and funding requests to send to various departments
· Resolve payroll discrepancies
· Obtain necessary written approvals before submitting payroll and maintain documentation
· Respond to employee payroll questions and requests,
· Provide reports requested
Desired Skills and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business or Organization Development or equivalent.
· 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in a Human Resources position in a manufacturing facility.
· Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration in a manufacturing facility.
· Proficient in the use of computers and associated software – Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Teams) - Experience with Dayforce is a major plus.
· Previous Payroll experience strongly preferred.
· Strong understanding of state and federal requirements and regulations.
· Experience administering employee benefit plans, recruitment, and compensation plans.

Physical Requirements:
Individuals will need to sit or stand as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday.
Working Conditions and Environment:
The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing and foot protection may be required. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting, and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
