Job Description
Responsibilities:

This Human Resource Generalist will support the Sr. Human Resource Business parter assigned business(s) on ‘first level’ ER issues. They should be a proactive communicator and change agent, who can successfully balance employee needs with business objectives to create integrated solutions. With directional support from HR leadership and HR Centers of Excellence, acting as a consultative business leader for company management to ensure effective alignment of HR support with strategic organizational objectives.

  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate (e.g., emergencies change in workload, rush jobs, or technical developments).
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Act as a consultative business partner by interpreting and implementing overall human resource objectives for a specific client group(s).
  • Act as a resource and counsel for assigned client group(s) in all aspects of human resources (i.e. staffing, coaching, counseling, training and development).
  • Provide eyes and ears function for a specific client group(s) in order to identify and define potential team member problems and issues. Develop pro-active solutions on routine and non-standard issues that arise.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • At least one year of human resource management experience preferred.
  • Must have depth in employee relations and performance management.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Experience in a labor organized environment preferred
  • Broad knowledge of HR functions and processes including Performance Management, Employee Relations, Talent Management, Communications, Workforce Planning, Succession Planning, Change Management, Recognition, Compensation and Benefits.
  • Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
  • Advanced knowledge of laws impacting HR processes and actions.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
