Job Description
Summary


This position provides a broad range of professional HR Generalist activities, including but not limited to employee consulting, training, conflict resolution, complaint investigation, policy interpretation, and preparing and delivering related summary reports and recommendations. Interacts with all levels of leadership regarding legal compliance, discipline, terminations, and negotiated separations. Works with a great deal of independent discretion in decision-making and execution of responsibilities. This role will work for MOBIS North America electrified powertrain LLC (MNAe).


Essential Functions (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)


  • Receive and respond to requests regarding leaves of absence (FMLA, personal, Military, etc.). Maintain records. Ensure ADA Accommodation Requests are received, acted upon, and monitored regularly and consistently. Conduct FMLA/ADA Training.
  • Serve as the primary representative on human resource issues for assigned divisions. Recommend actions regarding employee counseling and discipline.
  • Investigate, respond to, and resolve employee, supervisor, and outside party complaints. Investigations include initial intake, interviews, associated research, findings preparation, and follow-up documentation and communication. Provide recommendations to HRM regarding resolution. Represent the department at legal proceedings such as unemployment and pre-termination hearings. Provide research and prepare written documentation supporting other legal actions such as grievances, EEOC claims, worker's compensation claims, liability, and other suits.
  • Educate, counsel, and support supervisors and employees to facilitate the consistent application of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, performance standards, and disciplinary and termination procedures.
  • Facilitate timely completion of appraisals. Ensure supervisors are aware of their employees' merit dates and other action dates. Review appraisals and track due dates, merit increases, and lump sums. Train, guide, and assist supervisory staff with documentation to promote consistent rating application.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
  • Assist with Worker's Compensation injuries requiring restricted duty and work absences. Explain processes and requirements to employees and supervisors to ensure everyone knows their responsibilities. Identify restricted duty assignments and ensure all parties know their responsibilities. Serve as liaison between Risk Management and employee as needed.
  • Assist with health and wellness initiatives, services, and programs.
  • Serve as a backup for iSolved activities, including payroll review, entering weekly transactions, and generating reports.
  • Assist with onboarding and departing activities, including new employee orientation and exit interviews. Assist with analyzing statistical data such as turnover and other significant employment trends. Recommend turnover reduction steps as needed.
  • Ensure the interview and hiring process is completed correctly, including conditional offers of employment, pre-placement testing, and security screening, and verification of employment, education, licenses, and certifications.
  • Build collaborative and effective working relationships with staff across the department's divisions.
  • Prepare materials and conduct training related to Human Resources topics.

Required Education & Experience


  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
  • Four years of professional human resource administration, or its equivalent through training, education, and other experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or a related field required.


Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities


  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Ability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in controversial and/or confrontational situations.
  • Thorough understanding of dispute resolution and compensation administration.
  • Thorough understanding of negotiation techniques.
  • Thorough understanding of state and federal laws concerning labor relations.
