We are searching for a Human Resources Business Partner for our Global Engineering organization. Our global footprint of 15 engineering centers is comprised of 8 Lead Design Centers (LDCs) and 7 Systems Elevator and Escalator Engineering teams (SEEs). The function employs approximately 1,200 professionals globally.
The successful candidate will provide direction for human resource functions for Global Engineering. Acting as HR Business Partner to the Senior Vice President, Engineering, they will also be a member of the Global Engineering leadership team, with direct reporting line to the VP, HR World Headquarters. This role will have responsibility for human resource strategy, development, and implementation in support of the business plan and organizational objectives. They will provide functional direction to the supporting regional HR managers. This person will also provide leadership and execution support, in conjunction with the Communities of Expertise (CoE’s), in a broad range of human resource generalist functions, policies, and programs. Responsibilities include:
  • Build relationships across all levels of the organization to facilitate appropriate employee interactions & workforce free of fear of retaliation & harassment.
  • Partner with COEs to deliver HR services & programs to support and meet employee and organizational needs.
  • Partner with the SVP, Engineering and executive team to develop people strategies to support organization and culture transformation, change management and achievement of business results.
  • Ensure robust succession for key positions through the deployment of talent programs
  • Lead development and implementation of HR strategies to support achievement of business objectives, employee engagement and culture change.
  • Coach executives and leaders on a variety of topics to improve communication, employee engagement, team development, leadership, and organization effectiveness, including a focus on Otis Absolutes (Ethics, Quality & Safety).
  • Analyze internal metrics and local market trends to develop business solutions and employee insights, programs and policies
  • Participate on various project teams including but not limited to: organization design, DE&I, recruitment, change management, etc.
  • Drive the business plans, through strategic talent acquisition and practices to attract and retain top talent in partnership with the COEs.
  • Oversee of all employee relations, performance management and total rewards initiatives to maximize business performance & employee engagement and retention.
Requirements
  • The successful candidate will perform in a global environment and the ability to perform in consideration of a multicultural organization that is organized in a regional and global structure is a must.
  • Ability to motivate teams and build effective relationships to influence outcomes.
  • Strategic thinker with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus.
  • Outstanding leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Highly organized leader with an ability to perform a broad range of management responsibilities, including influence leadership in a matrixed environment.
  • 15 or more years of experience in a Human Resources leadership role.
  • Relevant Master’s degree preferred.
  • Strongly prefer someone with prior experience supporting an Engineering or technical function, preferably in an Engineering site / center.
  • Prior experience driving change initiatives for client groups.
  • Experience supporting a global client group
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related area of study.
