Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The HR Compliance Analyst is a critical partner to the human resources team in ensuring compliance with international, federal, state, and local regulatory and legal standards. This role is responsible for overseeing multiple HR activities and processes and being a proactive partner in researching legislation to ensure compliance in those activities and processes. Compliance activities generally are focused on the employee recruitment process, background checks, required trainings, data privacy, Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action, employee handbooks, required compensation practices, and onboarding.

RESPONSIBILITIS:

  • Develop and audit recruiting and hiring procedures to comply with employment regulations, particularly within onboarding.
  • Partner with the learning and development team to oversee and execute anti-harassment training and other required courses.
  • Serve as a project manager, partnering with HR teams to create and implement new and revised processes and system enhancements to ensure compliance with international, federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Scrutinize all documents and practices to ensure conformance and compliance to local, state, and federal requirements. Research and create guidelines and procedures for newly created requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to develop and implement process improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor, summarize and comprehend employment and labor laws. Draft clear communications and conduct presentations to advise business partners of requirements.
  • Partner on creating required employee notices within the HRIS system, including attestations, manage completion reporting, and propose enhancements to current process.
  • Oversee employee handbooks by updating content to include appropriate policies and topics, developing international handbooks, and administering an annual employee acknowledgement of all handbooks.
  • Partner with other team members on Affirmative Action plan creation and equal opportunity standards, working with an external vendor. Maintain compliance records and produce reports including EEO-1 and Affirmative Action plans.
  • Support the international and domestic background check process through audits and reporting. Initiate and clear escalated background checks, and serve as a backup for standard new hire background checks.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Must have the demonstrated ability to manage and follow through on multiple priorities and assignments.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Prior HR experience required. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in HR Compliance or HR Generalist functions.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Must possess general knowledge of and experience with state and federal employment regulations.
  • Must possess strong communication, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.

COMPENSATION:

The salary range is $55,000 to $85,000, depending on relevant factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc. This role is based out of the Milliman Seattle office, but candidates can work remotely anywhere in the US.
