Job Description

Title: HR Assistant

Hiring Range: $20 - $25 per hour

Pay Band: UG

Job Duties

Wage employees are limited to working 1500 hours per year, and do not receive state benefits.
Primary duties include full life-cycle recruiting: recruiting, screening, and recommending placement of sworn and professional staff by using effective sourcing methods (internal and external). The successful candidate will possess an energetic, positive attitude, and have an ability to communicate with a diverse population. Additional duties include general administrative support for the HR Director.
  • Ensure applicants flow through all steps of the pre-employment process
  • Identify marketing materials for use in agency recruitment campaigns
  • Leverage social media to expand community knowledge about the Division
  • Identify external recruitment platforms to develop diverse applicants pools
  • Establish partnerships within the community to present DCP as an employer of choice
  • Counsel applicants on agency programs and career options
  • Work with hiring managers and command leadership to determine staffing requirements
  • Attend relevant job fairs, college, and community events

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license
  • Good organization, project management, and presentation skills
  • Experience creating effective recruitment strategies in a deadline driven environment
  • Considerable experience working with applicant tracking systems, MS Office, and Gmail
  • General HR knowledge and/or experience (i.e. benefits, leave, policies, procedures, etc.)
  • Ability to travel through the state (day trips)
  • High school diploma
  • Must have recent and substantial experience in full-life cycle recruitment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Law enforcement experience
  • Experience using social media for recruitment purposes
  • Experience in a high volume recruitment environment
