Chelsea Piers has proven its commitment to world-class fitness with its 130,000 square foot flagship club in Chelsea and two and-alone clubs in Brooklyn.


Our clubs feature study-quality fitness programming, comprehensive personal training, indoor swimming pools, recreational and competitive sports clubs, communal work and social spaces, artisanal food offerings and a year-round calendar of social and cultural events that reflect the ethos of the neighborhoods they serve. We focus on creating spaces that both inspire a sense of belonging and connection + foster growth in the individual through dedication and joy.

General Responsibilities


  • Lead the Hospitality Team and ensure that they are operating at the Chelsea Piers Fitness standards of excellence
  • Maintain a positive attitude and take initiative
  • Provide high level customer service and hospitality to members
  • Act as the On-Site Merchandise Coordinator
  • Uphold high-level visibility and engagement with club members
  • Own the Kids Clubhouse, including: recruiting, managing, scheduling and programming
  • Maintain Chelsea Piers Fitness product and brand knowledge


Hospitality Management Responsibilities


  • Assist with Sales, Marketing, Personal Training and Group Fitness initiatives
  • Coordinate staffing schedules
  • Manage either the opening or closing of the entire fitness club.
  • Manage the Hospitality Team to ensure that they are delivering the highest standard of customer service
  • Facilitate and lead Hospitality Associate cross training to ensure all team members understand hospitality and fitness concierge duties including renewing personal training packages and checking in classes.
  • Complete bi-weekly payroll
  • Serve as a visible and active goodwill ambassador with prospective members
  • Manage the recruitment, onboarding, and coaching process for the Hospitality Team
  • Monitor visitor access and maintain security awareness.


Merchandise Responsibilities


  • Take full ownership of all stock rooms, ensuring that they are organized & well-maintained.
  • Facilitate the proper use of the Inventory Management System by staff.
  • Work in conjunction with management to ensure Inventory Management System is operating efficiently


Qualifications


Qualifications:


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit who can run projects independently. Creative problem-solver and ability to flourish in a fast-paced work environment
  • College BA or BS degree preferred
  • Minimum 1-3 years of professional experience
  • Self-motivated/entrepreneurial spirit with an outgoing, diligent and affable disposition
  • Ability to adapt to change and a willingness to improve and evolve
  • High-energy, personable and passion for fitness with a team-first mentality
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 to 45 pounds and stand at the front desk for the duration of a shift
