Joseph Phelps Vineyards is currently seeking a Hospitality Liaison! This is an ideal opportunity for an individual who enjoys a mix of guest engagement and operations.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Manage Check-In


  • Add walk-ins and Insignia Tastings by assigning host and table
  • Refund tasting fees for new sign up’s that purchase required minimum of bottles
  • Help clear and reset tables to support Wine Educators if needed
  • Check in all guests with ease and patience


Inventory


  • Work with team to track down discrepancies
  • Pull orders or be the “second set of eyes” to assure wine was packed to Joseph Phelps Vineyards’ standards
  • Track wine weekly counts (audit inventory)


Retail


  • Responsible for picnic reservations. Setting the table before guest arrives. Making sure guest has wine and water. Retrieving food for guests if their tasting was before their picnic
  • Audit registers totals
  • Ring out Bountiful Tables and Private Wine Request Forms by coordinating with Wine Educators
  • Close out all apps at end of day
  • Keep non-wine items and packing materials stocked and tidy
  • Ring out Employee Wine Program orders
  • Close registers
  • Assist Wine Educators with closing side work once retail closing work is complete
  • Assist Wine Educators with orders in Commerce7
  • Assist Wine Educators with opening side work
  • Help train new hires in Commerce7


Administrative


  • Input tables and hosts into TOCK
  • Print chits and menus


Requirements


Computer proficiency, ability to learn POS and reservation systems


  • Professional appearance and demeanor – warm, gracious, and poised
  • Ability to work non-traditional business hours including evenings & weekends
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards – strong attention to detail and service focus
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously while still delivering exceptional customer service and meeting team deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Restaurant, hotel, or winery experience a plus
  • Be able to identify an issue, come up with solutions while staying calm
  • Friendly, positive and professional disposition when dealing with guests, vendors and co-workers

LANGUAGE SKILLS:


Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.


REASONING ABILITY:


Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to solve practical problems associated with customer service.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


Must be able to lift at least 37 pounds, sit and stand for prolonged periods of time, work on a computer for prolong periods of time.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:


Work is mainly done in an office environment, with occasional warehouse and outside work. Noise levels are low to moderate.
