Jacobs is seeking a dynamic Health & Safety (H&S) Specialist for our Atlanta Airlines Terminal (AAT) Project for the third shift (10 PM-6 AM). In this role, you'll be responsible for subcontractor pre-qualifications and fleet safety management. You will also assist with the development, implementation, and administration of safety, health, occupational health, fire protection and prevention, and equipment and property protection for the project team.

Our Health, Safety Professionals:

• Work closely with the site safety manager in a wide range of activities, (providing guidance to the project manager on safety issues, maintaining local, state, company, and federal safety compliance).
• Demonstrated interpersonal relations and personnel management skills
• Able to work independently and develop solutions to problems and hazards identified by the technicians in the field.
• Assist the project manager and the site safety manager in continued improvement in key safety metrics and evaluating leading and lagging indicators.
• Review, coordinate and assist with providing safety training to project personnel.
• Perform site safety walk-throughs and submitting written reports to the respective department managers
• Assist the site safety manager with accident/incident investigation and submission of all related report.
• Assist with the ongoing assessment of the project’s overall Health & Safety performance and work with the site safety manager in coaching department managers on implementation.
• Assist in identifying gaps in the project’s Health & Safety programs and work with the project team in closing those gaps
• Knowledgeable of OSHA 1910 and a working knowledge of OSHA 1926.
• Working knowledge of writing Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA)
• Familiarity with conducting job/work site evaluations, hazard identifications, and recommending hazard controls
• Perform any additional safety related duties and/or assignments that may be deemed necessary to enhance or protect the health and safety of the team members at the project.

**This position will cover primarily the 3rd shift (10 PM-6 AM) but schedule may fluctuate with 1st and 2nd shift as well.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

**(The candidate hired must meet all the requirements. Please review carefully)

• Experience with managing and conducting safety training presentations
• Possess a valid driver’s license with no major infractions
• Previous experience in a construction and/or general industry environment
• BS degree plus an additional 5 years full time experience in a Health & Safety position; or a minimum of 8 years full time experience in a Health & Safety position in lieu of the degree
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
• Ability to travel 10% a year

Ideally, You'll Also Have:

• Degree in environmental science, engineering, industrial hygiene, safety, or related field
• Safety certification preferred
• Experience in regulatory compliance, as well as all federal, state and local agencies requirements
