Health And Safety Specialist

Job Purpose

The Health and Safety Specialist is part of the Field Operations team and actively provides on-site leadership and strategic direction around ensuring the health and safety of Pattern employees and contractors.

Key Accountabilities:

• Perform hazard/risk assessments.
• Support self-perform sites with the creation of new safe work procedures and lock out, tag out instructions for the equipment at their facility.
• Support the set up of new Pattern facilities.
• Implement best known safety practices throughout the fleet.
• Implement injury prevention techniques.
• Coach and build strong relationships with field employees.
• Lead root cause analysis investigations as required.

Experience/Qualifications/Education Required

• Experience with cranes, lifting and rigging, civil works, safety management systems, control of hazardous energy, confined space requirements, work at heights and soft tissue injury prevention desired.
• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Health and Safety or 5 years of technical leadership work experience in the wind industry.
• Experience with owner/operator self-perform of operations and maintenance structure.

Additional Requirements

• Experience using technical resources such as hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Travel to remote areas within US and Canada up to 50% may be required.
• Excellent public speaking skills.
• Experience writing technical documentation.Knowledge about traditional and modern safety leadership practices.
