Responsibilities
Provide professional and technical support for Training/Occupational Safety and Health (T/OSH)
Programs as directed by NTTC Lackland T/OSH Officer. The T/OSH Specialist must meet the
required degree of responsiveness essential to safely accommodate training workload demands
throughout NTTC Lackland. The Training/Occupational Safety and Health Specialist will typically
perform the following duties:
- Works closely with major training programs throughout NTTC Lackland, interfacing and
policies, procedures and applications staying abreast of new developments in the area of
safety in the education and training environments.
- Employs safety skills, knowledge and experience to determine and take corrective

safety compliance in NTTC Lackland.Manage and coordinate facility trouble calls and
repairs. Coordinate maintenance and self-help projects.
- Interprets safety standards and regulations as they apply to the education and training
- Assists in the investigation of mishaps, maintains records, and evaluates data to detect
control and minimize hazardous conditions. Compiles and analyzes statistical data and
prepares charts, tables and reports. Discovers trends, identifies accident/mishap causes,
and locates hazards and potential hazards. Develops and implements remedial measures.
- Exercises authority to stop any operation where there is imminent danger to facilities,

- Serves as team leader or participant in CENSECFOR sponsored inspections and surveys.

Qualifications
Required:
- Must possess a favorable adjudication of a National Agency Check with Local Agency and Credit

and prone positions; ascend or descend ladders and go through narrow passageways; be free of
any abnormal fear of heights and be able to acclimate to extreme local environmental conditions
(e.g., high heat, humidity). These conditions and standards must be met at time of employment,
and that these fitness standards are to be sustained throughout the life of the contract. The
employee may be required to move ten pounds and could occasionally lift or move up to thirty-
five pounds.
