The GMI team responds to Medical Information Requests (MIRs) from around the world with balanced, comprehensive, and up-to-date compilations of scientific data and information.
The Global Medical Information Intern offers a challenging on-the-job learning experience that will expose the intern to the latest scientific advances and trends in cancer treatment, as well as provide a broad overview of pharmaceutical medical information functions.
This is a temporary, non-exempt, remote position reporting to the Head of Global Medical Information.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Searching scientific literature databases (eg, EMBASE, PubMed) to help identify the latest research findings relevant to answering MIRs
- Loading documents and references into the document review and storage system (Veeva Vault), and helping manage workflows
- Helping perform quality assurance on GMI documents, including proofreading, editing, and checking annotations that substantiate facts by linking to scientific literature.
- Performing data analyses on the MIRs received by GMI
- Monitoring the GMI incoming mailboxes and helping triage MIRs to GMI staff for fulfillment
- Entering MIR data into a tracking spreadsheet, including determining fulfillment details and reconciling MIR records
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE:
- Superior skills in MS Excel, Word, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat
- Pursuing an advanced biological, pharmaceutical, or healthcare scientific degree
- Rising Senior & final year MBA candidates preferred
- Must commit to 30-40 hours a week
- Scientific writing experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical field
- Preferred:
- Previous experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry
- Knowledge of oncology and related biomolecular processes
- Fluent in English with excellent writing and editorial skills
- University degree in a scientific discipline or related field
- Recommended GPA of 3.0 or above
- Previous experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of oncology and related biomolecular processes
OTHER:
- Participate in the Intern Program with other interns; bi weekly lunch & learns, coffee chats, & final presentations
- Opportunity to travel to the Portsmouth, NH office mid-summer for a two day on site cultural emersion
