Job Description
The Director of Information Technology is responsible for overseeing the integration and effective use of technology across the K-12 school district. The Director of Information Technology will lead the development and implementation of technology policies and procedures, ensure the district is utilizing the latest technology trends and practices, and provide technical support to staff and students.Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement a technology capital improvement plan for the district, in collaboration with other district leaders, to ensure technology is integrated into all aspects of teaching, learning and business functions.Establish and maintain technology policies and procedures that align with industry best practices and meet the unique needs of the district. Ensure compliance with all privacy laws and regulations. Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and practices, and make recommendations for the adoption of new technologies and software applications.Supervise, evaluate and support the District's IT team to ensure all technology systems are running efficiently and effectively.Develop and implement training programs for staff and students to ensure they are proficient in the use of technology and software applications.Collaborate with teachers and instructional leaders to identify and implement technology tools that support student learning and engagement.Develop and manage the district's technology budget and ensure all technology purchases are aligned with the district's goals and objectives.Manage and support the district network, telecommunications, physical and data security including building alarms and electronic door locks.Serve as the point of contact for technical support requests from staff and students.Develop bid specs, analyze bid responses, and prepare recommendations of awards to the Board.Qualifications: Degree in computer science, information technology, Education or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role overseeing technology in a K-12 or higher education setting.Strong understanding of K-12 educational technology trends and practices.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to develop and manage budgets.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Knowledge of project management methodologies.Demonstrated ability to manage teams and build relationships with key stakeholders.Familiarity with Google and Microsoft products with experience using Windows, ChromeOS and Google Management Console. Ability to support and manage Windows Servers, Firewalls, wired and wireless network infrastructure.
