    Name of position: GIS Analyst
    Location: Remote

    Job description

    Virginia Department of Elections (ELECT) is seeking a GIS Analyst. We are looking for people who are ready to support ELECT geospatial initiatives, systems and data processes to ensure accuracy, integrity, security and efficiency as it pertains to elections. You will assist in the development of policies, standards and procedures relating to GIS support administration, performance, security and auditing. If you possess the knowledge, skills and abilities to ensure system availability, integrations, and timely completion of tasks to support the elections process, this might be the job for you.

    5 years experience in Experience in ESRI ArcGIS server software administration including, applying software patches, upgrading server software, systems troubleshooting, etc

    experience in GIS Application Administration

    experience in with ARC GIS

    Experience working with 3rd parties or government agencies to exchange data
    Proficient working with shape files and GIS Maps

    Proficient working with secure file exchange protocols like SFTP

    Working with large data sets or data warehousing for GIS

    Working with complex data sets and relational databases for GIS

    Working knowledge of SQL queries

    Understanding of change control or SDLC
