General Manager Jobs

Wolter, Inc., a material handling industry leader, is looking for a General Manager based out of our St. Louis, MO. Office. This position is responsible for smooth operation of service, rentals, parts, sales, and administrative functions. Our General Manager ensures good working relationships between customers, vendors, branches, Corporate, and this branch.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintain leadership role as regional or branch head, provide tools to protect the health and safety of all employees.
• Entertain customers as appropriate and be available outside of normal business hours.
• Responsible for customer satisfaction.
• Partner with management team to ensure customer satisfaction and sales goals are achieved.
• Responsible for profitability of the branch, meeting budget forecasts.
• Ensure business plans and sales results meet expectations of the manufacturers we represent under direction of VP Sales.
• Provide input (working with COO, VP-Sales, and CFO) in creating annual working budgets.
• Manage branch’s assets and limit any liabilities.
• Responsible for developing and implementing business plans for all territories of the branch or region as directed by VP Sales.
• Assist when requested in resolving any customer problems or complaints.
• Actively seek leads for products or services that are handled by other sales reps or divisions and forward same to them.
• Work with/mentor entry level sales people as assigned.
• Attend trade shows as required.
• Responsible for staffing and development of employees for present position and career path.

Requires demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others. A qualified candidate will have the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and the ability to plan over a one-to-two year time span. Must have excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, strong computer proficiency, and a valid driver’s license with good driving record. Previous experience in industrial powered equipment a plus.
