Position Summary
The Gender Based Violence Prevention (GBVP) Coordinator is responsible for all the Department of Justice Campus Program grant activities, reporting to the Dean of Student Support. The GBVP coordinator will manage the project as outlined in the grant proposal, comply with grant reporting requirements, collaborate with campus financial personnel to administer grant funds, ensure timely implementation of proposed activities, coordinate collaboration across campus and with law enforcement and victim services partners; arrange participation in Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) technical assistance trainings, data collection and reporting; develop a Bellevue College Sexual Violence Manual documenting policies, protocols, procedures, and resources and disseminate with links to other appropriate resources.
This is a temporary project position and expected to end on 09/30/2024. Extension of the position pending on funding availability.
Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule
Position Salary Range: $65,255/year - $91,314/year
The salary will be determined based on candidate's qualifications and related experience. Typically, new hires start no higher than $71,770/year based on Bellevue College Exempt salary schedule.
We offer comprehensive compensation package with salary and benefits as the main components. The employee is scheduled to work 40 hours per workweek. This position may be eligible for the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act; salaries below the WA State Salary Threshold is eligible for overtime pay.

About the Department
The Gender Based Violence Coordinator is a member of the Student Support Unit with Student Affairs. The Student Support Unit consists of eight functional areas, including: Advising, Benefits Hub, Counseling, Disability Resource Center, Multicultural Student Services, Veterans Resource Center, Workforce Education and Gender Based Violence Prevention.
Essential Functions
Manage the Violence Against Women Act Grant
Manage all aspects of the Sexual Violence Prevention Project to ensure compliance with grant contract requirements and ensure on-time achievement of deliverables.
Facilitate Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women (DOJ OVW) needs assessment for the college.
Arrange and attend mandatory Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women (DOJ OVW) technical assistance trainings for campus (to include students, staff, and community partners).
Establish methods to track participation in all training plans.
Submit progress reports to the Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women (DOJOVW).
Internal Partnerships
Build relationships with campus stakeholders.
Coordinate all partners to prevent and reduce sexual assault and domestic violence within the college community.
Coordinate employee and student training plans with BC Training Managers.
Lead facilitation of development and implementation of training plans for students and employees.
Manage the Coordination Community Response Team
Schedule and facilitate monthly Coordinated Response Team (CCRT) Meetings.
Facilitate a shared understanding of policies and procedures among the college response team.
Develop manual for the Bellevue College Sexual Violence Prevention Project.
Develop training plans for students, campus employees, campus law enforcement, and campus disciplinary personnel.
External Partnerships
Oversee Victim's Advocacy on campus in coordination with community partners.
Manage compliance with Memorandum of Understanding MOUs.
Facilitate partnerships to prevent and reduce sexual assault and domestic violence.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in education, behavioral science, social work or related discipline. Relevant work experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
At least three (3) years of work experience in providing support/advocacy services.
Community coordination or training experience in sexual violence prevention and bystander intervention and/or victim advocacy.
Demonstrated understanding of related laws such as Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), Title IX, and Clery.
Experience working with diverse employees and customer/client groups with a demonstrated commitment to cultural pluralism and cultural responsiveness.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to adapt communication to various audiences (Example: faculty/student/administrative).
Intermediate skills in MS Office and knowledge of SharePoint.
Preferred Qualifications
Federal grant management experience.
Project management experience.
