Job Description
Duties
The Gallery Coordinator will perform a variety of duties, including
The Roski School of Art and Design is seeking a Gallery Coordinator to join its team.
Responsible for coordinating the whole exhibition process for exhibit ion s , including engaging Roski’s exhibition committee, curators, artists, staff, faculty, students, consultants, art handlers, etc. in the three galleries at USC
Coordinate ongoing gallery operations, including overseeing schedules and budget s , managing inventory, replenishing gallery supplies, coordinating transportation of artwork, etc.
Ensure the safety of the artwork through execution of loan agreements , education of art audiences, vigilant observation, and implementation of art handling best practices
Maintain documentation on consultants and vendors, including contracts and payment records; ensuring that invoices are submitted to the finance department for timely payment processing
Support the development of public programming and community engagement initiatives
Review and ensure exhibiting artist s submit all necessary exhibition materials to the Communications Manager for publicity materials, including exhibition postcards, e-blasts, press releases, social media and website updates
Liaise and maintain a productive relationship with internal and external stakeholders
Act as a docent for guests and VIPs ; p rovide coverage in the galleries during open hours when required
Work on ad hoc projects and other related duties as determined by the Assistant Facilities Manager and Communication s Manager
Minimum Field Of Experience 
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Adobe suite of applications to include Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • Experience utilizing digital reproduction technologies ( e.g. scanners and digital cameras for preservation, access and /or exhibition.)
  •    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with collections database s
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrable specialized knowledge pertinent to materials in collection(s) and archival equipment
  • Experience working in higher education
  •     1 or more years of relevant work experience
  •     Experience supporting collections , curators , and archivists
  •    Team oriented , self-motivated, strong work ethic with the ability to meet deadlines and interact with all levels of management.
The hourly rate for this position is $ 25.00 .
