Learn more about Aeon at www.aeon.org. Position Summary We are seeking an administrative and customer service professional to join our supportive housing community, Archdale, in Downtown Minneapolis! The Front Desk Assistant will perform front desk duties, administrative support and some light security functions. This position requires a demonstrated history of dependability and the ability to practice great judgement, while building relationships and offering stellar customer service to our residents and guests. The Front Desk Assistant will report to the Property Manager. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Ability to reach above and below the shoulders
  • Maintain desk area and lobby to ensure neat and professional appearance Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to withstand external weather conditions Hours 1st Shift, Monday - Friday 6:30am-2:30pm. Hours are not flexible. Candidate must have the ability to commit to listed schedule. Compensation This position pays $18/hr - $20/hr depending on experience.   • Complete security and safety rounds several times throughout each shift, in accordance with property expectations. Rounds include but are not limited to: walking property hallways, stairwells, common areas, outside courtyards, walkways and perimeters, identifying and addressing security and safety concerns.
  • Proven ability to create and sustain positive resident relations while maintaining professional boundaries
  • Must be able to take charge and direct others in emergencies as they arise
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Administrative duties including assembling resident files, processing move-in and move-out paperwork, assisting Property Manager with recertification paperwork for existing residents and other duties as assigned
  • Ability to quickly respond to sights and sounds that may pose a threat to persons or property
  • Enforce building rules and regulations, monitor building's security cameras and alarms, and maintain the harmony of the residents and their guests
  • Ability to complete all security and safety rounds in line with property expectations
  • Must show good judgment and common sense, follow directions and directives from supervisors, and follow company policies and guidelines
  • Compose comprehensive reports outlining observations and activities during your assigned shift
  • Must have a commitment to learning and participating in Aeon's diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts
  • Assist residents and effectively and professionally diffuse resident or visitor confrontations, while acting decisively in any crisis situation
  • Answer/route all incoming phone calls, maintain welcoming environment, answer general inquiries
  • 1+ years of administrative experience or the equivalent required
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to walk up and down property stairwells, walk the property hallways, common areas, outside courtyards, walkways and perimeters several times on each shift
  • Effectively and accurately communicate all housing requirements/criteria for incoming marketing inquiries
  • Ability to engage in high level customer service that is culturally responsive, ensuring consideration for differing needs and expectations of residents, staffs, vendors, community members, etc... is required
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs
  • Must become closely acquainted with the property and its residents, vendors, etc. in order to foster a sense of community and home while maintaining professional boundaries
  • Proven ability to work independently and on a team
  • Ability to file, open and close file drawers, and enter data into a computer for extended periods of time
  • Must have the ability to maintain prompt and committed attendance
